We have always sailed Carnival and loved it. But since it was just the two of us we chose to try royal Caribbean.
Boarding the ship was great. Really fast and organized. They only allow you to go to your stateroom at 1:00( and not a min earlier).
The ship was beautiful, but very worn. Rugs were tattered and old.
We had an oceanview stateroom. It was really nice.Lots of storage. Bathroom was a good size .I was surprised at how strong the water pressure was. But the shower stall was really small.
The dining room was a huge disappointment. I had read reviews about the food and thought maybe those people just had a bad chef. But now I know what they mean. The food was awful.Prime rib was not even edible. We had one night that we actually said it was good. We ate at Johnny Rockets another night. We had 2 at our table and our waiter had 2 other tables with 8 people each . Every night we had to wait for the other 2 tables to arrive or eat before we continued on. As if we were with them. Some nights they ordered 3 different appetizers and we had to wait for them to finish before we got our food.We figured we would just eat later at the buffet, but the buffet closes at nine. No midnight buffets. So be prepared to pay for food at johnny rockets , the cupcake store or ben and jerrys. The buffet was just as bad. My pancake actually nade a clunk when i put it in my plate.Couldn't cut through french toast. juice was 75% water.
The entertainment was awful. What a boring ship. Bingo was 45 dollars. We watched grease on the big screen by the pool. wow. They have an itinerary for the next day. You could choose between flattening your abs, look ten years younger, botox, or you can attend spinning for $$$$.The nightly entertainment was great as well as the cruise director.Carnival is definitely better and a lot more fun.
