Carnival Magic is an amazing ship, still new and all the time spotlessly clean. Staff, with the exception of one, who shall remain nameless, were always polite and helpful. The food choice was incredible and sooo much of it. One small criticism is that in the Northern Lights, if you sit in certain areas, your dinner will be cold (so will you) as here the air conditioning blasts from overhead. Despite making staff aware of this, nothing could be done, which is a shame, as we hate cold food.
The cabins were great. The excursions were ok, although, I wouldn't choose 'in the godfathers footsteps' Sicily again. The coach rocked from side to side and then with the hairpin bends, I felt decidedly queasy by the time we got there and really there is nothing much to see. Monaco, was brilliant, as was Dubrovnik, (don't miss this one). Wasn't impressed with Florence, but if you want to do it, do Florence on your own as its cheaper.
Room service breakfast a bit hit and miss as to what they left off the tray, but generally not too bad.
The onboard italian restaurant is FABULOUS, with a lovely warm atmosphere, do go!
Didn't really have any issue with the sunbeds...yes, people do put their towels on them, but we only once had a problem getting them. It would have been an issue had all 13 of us wanted to be together possibly though.
Messina Sicily. Not great and definitely not what I expected. Thought it would be beautiful, but disappointed.
Would I recommend this ship, YES. But a word of advice, if you take teenagers 18 or 19 years old, remember they can't drink as USA rules apply, so this was the down side for us and would look for a non US ship if taking my son next year.
Special mention to Viyorika, who was very good in the northern lights with exceptional service, well done Viyorika!!!
