We flew with British Airways from Glasgow, Scotland to San Francisco via London. The flights were fine and on-time. Taxi from SFO to Hilton Union Square took about 30 minutes and soon we were checking in. Being a Hilton H Honors member cuts the wait to check in at this very busy hotel. The hotel was very good and well located, a large hotel and everything done very efficiently if a bit impersonal.

We stayed there for 4 nights and done the usual tourist and shopping stuff in San Francisco. Morning of cruise left Hotel around 11.30 and taxi to cruise terminal. After drop off there was a bit of confusion on where to go and getting a porter to handle luggage. However soon sorted out and quickly checked in and boarded. We were in our stateroom by 12.20. Our first stop was to get some laundry done as we had been travelling a few days.We took what we needed to wash and laundry sheets in hand luggage. At first laundromat was closed so we went for lunch and by the time we went back to our deck laundromat was open so got the washing done. On this occasion no problems but at a later point in cruise we had difficulty getting the laundry dry as the dryers seemed to be very cool no matter the setting.

Enough about domestic chores, we had a beautiful sailaway under the Golden Gate Bridge in perfect weather. This set the tone for the rest of the cruise as weather was great. The ship was absolutely fine.We had read a few reviews with negative comments but we really were fully satisfied.

Cabin Review

Cabin I

Cabin was fine, storage space adequate, our first time in an inside cabin so found it a bit different to a balcony. A nightlight is a good idea. As Sea Princess goes to many different cruising areas I noticed US, British and Australian types of power outlets in cabin which is a good idea.
