The buffet was as I had read very busy, there were always long lines, and the food on the buffet was so - so. It was so busy that many times we either didn't eat there or went to the dining room.
The dining room was very well organized and we had a wonderful head waiter and her assistant was also great. The food was always hot, well presented and timely. The deserts were very, very good, and we tried many of them. We had 2 staterooms which were side by side. 8319 and 8323, both were outside rooms with a veranda, which we had opened so we could enjoy the outside together. Our rooms were just below the Lido Deck, you could hear the tables and chairs being moved all day and night, it was so loud that it kept us awake until the early hours of the morning. Had I know that it was going to be this loud I would have gotten rooms lower down. Our room stewards were very efficient and kept out rooms neat and clean.
The shows were all very good. There is always something to More do, and something going on as can be heard while the those who have over indulged at the bar are returning to their rooms. Nothing really to say about the excursions they were alright, nothing to brag or complain about would do this trip again but would more than likely stay away from Carnival.
Because of Tropical Storm Irene we were told that we could not go to St. Marrten, which was one of the islands we wanted our girls to see. We had another sea day, which was not we had signed up for. The storm was 350 nautical miles away the said it was for our safety, and the port of San Juan was also closed. The information from the Captain was very vague and caused more confusion than it did good. They all acted like this the first time that this had happened, and really didn't have a plan of what they had to do or what they should do. That was one of the shortcomings of the trip Less

Cabin review: Carnival Victory Balcony Verandah 8323
Cabins 8319 and 8323 are both under the Lido Deck and are very noisy from folks moving chairs and tables accross the floor above the rooms. We could not get to sleep until early in the morning when almost everyone went to bed.
