When we pulled in to Prince Rupert, we were greeted by a small boat with a bugle player playing the Canadian National Anthem, and then he promptly played the American National Anthem, everyone loved it, he was then chased by the port police..which was hilarious! He kept moving around our ship playing various tunes and that was really cool. We got off the ship and walked to town, went to the local visitor center and museum which was really neat. We then ate at a local restaurant near the port and had some really good food. Prince Rupert is pretty sleepy but it was still a neat place to visit and I was finally able to say I had been to Canada! The cruise lines have decided to nix Prince Rupert from their ports of call after this year which is a shame. Small towns like these have spent a lot of money getting their docks in shape and to size to fit large cruise ships, and rely a lot on tourism..with the cruise lines not coming anymore the people and town will suffer.
