We actually sailed from Liverpool but Cruise Critic don't appear to recognise it as a port.
Win some, lose some. The itinerary had to be changed but did we really want to go north from Liverpool in the prevailing weather. The age profile of the passengers said no. We're not as nimble as we used to be. CMV worked hard to offer an alternative cruise and we only lost a day giving the option to explore Liverpool plus £50 on board credit per person compensation.
Ship might best be described as compact and cosy. Easy to get around. Cabin steward was excellent and Tom our Burmese waiter lightened our evenings. Food was good too as was the entertainment. Don't know why we had never come across Bob Taylor before, a top class comedian. Enjoyed the port visits as no need to book excursions and the sail up the Seine was a real added bonus. Rouen cathedral is a must see.
Enjoyed ourselves so much we booked again for next year, and then they gave us 25% off for having had to change this cruise. A very pleasant surprise.
Our last cruise was around the world on Arcadia. P&O could learn a lot from CMV.
