Great cruise once again with Carnival. Family of 5 with kids aged 13,11 and 6. Embarkation was very quick- we arrived at 1:00pm and were on the ship by 1:20pm. Reserved a van ride from MSY to the hotel and it was much cheaper than a regular cab (we had another family with, so 9 total)...limos.com. The ship is in good shape considering it's going into dry dock in the next few months. We had an inside cabin on Deck 8, which was conviently located for nearly everything on the ship. Things are dated a bit (old TV, carpet worn, a few leaks on the Lido deck with buckets underneath), but still very functional. The dining room food was consistently good. The buffet was a bit more limited with long lines at time, but pretty standard fare for cruise ships. The service is just average as far as cruises go. The staff was cordial, but not overly friendly or outgoing. If you passed a staff member in the hallway, they rarely looked up or acknowledged you. The entertainment was the best I've experienced on the all the cruises we've been on. Comedians, jugglers, dancing shows were really top rate. We did shore tours on each island, none booked thru Carnival. It's about one third the price to walk through the shopping area and working with local taxi drivers. It's the slow season now, so everything was pretty cheap. Debarkation was smooth and we were off the ship by 9am. We've sailed with lots of cruise companies, but keeping coming back to Carnival because it's fun!
8366 fits five people. it's tight, but incredibly economical. Great location, close to everything, no loud noises.
