Girls Getaway
We arrived in Orlando the day before embarkation as always. Stayed at the Marriott Airport Hotel. I had not stayed here before, but will recommend it to anyone travelling to the Orlando area. The hotel staff was helpful and friendly.

Headed for the port on Monday morning the 12th of September. Boarding was a breeze. We did not have to wait in line very long at all.

Our first stop was the Windjammer Cafe for a bite of lunch. The food was pretty good.

After lunch went to check out our cabin.... I have to say the Ocean view we had was very small, but manageable. Our room steward, Elena was superb!!! We told her we wanted ice every morning and evening... it was there. She always greeted us with a smile and made sure we had everything we needed.

I have taken many cruises, I usually don't have any complaints, but this time...well read on and see..

One complaint I have concerning the Windjammer is that the serving utensils get very hot....too hot too handle sometimes. There should be utensils with heat resistant handles!! I was not the only passenger to notice this.

Dinner was in Vincent's which I have no complaints at all about. The service each night was exceptional and after the first night our waiter Teo and our assistant waiter Putu called us by name.

We didn't catch any of the shows, which was by choice. We mainly took this cruises for relaxation...

At night I enjoy a cup of coffee.... however, the coffee station that is set up in the Jade after Windjammer closes is always either cold or lukewarm at best. The station is set up near a drafty doorway!! The coffee was also always too strong at all the restaurants. When I approached one of the Food and Beverage Managers about this I was given the excuse that it was the price people were paying for the cruise.. Give me a break!! It shouldn't matter what someone pays for a cruise as to the level of service they get!!

Some of the crew that we encountered seemed to care less about the passengers. It was almost as if they couldn't wait for the cruise to end.

I have seen this only once before and that was just before the ship was being sold.

Although I will cruise Royal Caribbean again, I will not cruise on Monarch of the Seas!!
