We had a wondeful cruise to Alaska aboard the Zuiderdam. The ship has excellent service and we had a great cabin. There were a few areas we thought could be improved upon, but none that were important enough to deter from a great vacation.
Background: We did a one week Vancouver round-trip to Alaska. My husband and I are in our mid-40's and our son is 12. We were in a deluxe verandah suite on the aft corner. This is the largest cabin we have ever book and was worth every cent.
Cabin: The cabin itself is one of the smaller suites and had plenty of space for 3 people. We had a bathtub, dressing area, and tons of closet space. Our balcony was the real reason I booked this suite and it was huge and perfect. The aft part of the balcony had a round table with chairs plus 2 wicker chairs with foot stools. One the side we had 2 chaise loungers. Our steward was the best we have ever had on a cruise. We asked for ice the first day and after that our ice bucket was always full. I think he replaced it everytime we left the room.
Great balcony that wraps the corner after. Excellent closet space. Nice dressing area.
