my husband & I booked a cruise for our 30 year anniversary. Got a big room, wrap around balcony with a true-queen sized bed (not 2 twins put together). Guess what...no such thing as a queen bed in this room (even though we were promised it from Carnival's booking agent). Nice big room though and great balcony. But...every morning at about 7am and all day long...noise from above...chairs being dragged, stomping....our room was on the back of the ship just below the 24 hour pizzeria and hot tub area... Obviously there was no insulation between the floors. Very aggravating when you spend alot on a room. We could never sleep in with all the noise. And an afternoon nap is out of the question. Then the bed with the crease in the middle... Now for the Islands....They were all pretty. But the locals in St. Thomas were rude (yelling at tourists to move and cussing people out for not folding up shirts correctly while looking). Barbados wasn't any better. And skip the Taste of Island Tour in Barbados. Took a ride to a rum distillery where we got to look at rum casks...offered to buy expensive rum. Got a small sample (prob 1/2 tsp in a plastic sample cup). Then on to an old house...boring. Did get a small glass of rum punch. Then off to a guys shop where he carves mahogany roots into art. Interesting but, encouraged to buy one of a kind stuff. We thought it would be better for $50 a person. Skip it. Now the Rail & scenic tour in St. Kitts is well worth the money ($78 per person). You take a rail car completely around the island (great views-you could sit downstairs in the air conditioning or go on the top open air-canopy covered car). Got a great view of the island and it was educational as well. Thumbs up on this tour. San Juan, Puerto Rico was beautiful and had good sight seeing. Expensive local food. Fast food available. beautiful place.
