We were reluctant first time cruisers, going on this trip as part of a group that outvoted us. The whole experience was a pleasant surprised, especially after reading reviews of horror stories of bad food and dirty, tiny rooms.

Our balcony stateroom was entirely pleasant with a reasonable size for two and a very usable balcony that we adored. Our only complaint was an upwind room was a smoker and it occasionally drove us from the balcony.

Our trip was shortened by two days due to TS Lee. We had expected to be completely hosed by the cruise line, but they refunded us 2/7 days of the trip. It wasn't well communicated but the refund was in the form of an onboard credit that if you didn't spend would eventually be refunded directly back to you. Many people on the ship thought it was onboard credit only and went on absurd spending sprees. I am not sure what else they could have done to make us whole, but the most disapponting part was missing Belize and Roatan for two Mexican ports of call. It was circumstances, we didn't have the vacation time to coordinate our group traveling a different week, so we were stuck where they took us.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony

Cabin BA

Great balcony (very quiet, no noise from surrounding public areas), well placed in the middle of the ship and top level in between the forward and middeck stairways, tile in bathroom does have some mildew around edges but hardly noticable. Southbound, lots of setting sun in the room heated up balcony quite a bit, but of course, it was perfect and shady for the return trip.
