Had a nice time, but overall dissapointed in service

Sail Date: September 2011
Destination: Bahamas
Embarkation: Baltimore

We just returned from a 7 day cruise on the Carnival Pride. We really liked the ship, but the service was lacking. After several encounters with "surly" staff members - everwhere from the buffet to gift shops to (I belive she was a dancer from the show) the staff members assisting with exiting the ship on the last day we swore we would return to Celebrity. We are still fairly new to cruising, but the contrast between lines is huge.

If you have several unruly kids who will run screaming around the ship then Carnival is your best bet. The food was good, not exciting, but good (one footnote: we ate in the specialty steakhouse onboard and that was outstanding).

The cabins were nice and well kept, the entertainment was ok, entertainment staff was excellent especially Louis and Chloe. Overall, if you're looking for a nice relaxing cruise with high standards of excellence and service then stay far way from Carnival - it caters to a whole different traveler. Less
