This is certainly not our first cruise and wont be our last. Just the second with Celebrity. The ship was everything we expected plus more and one of the cleanest we've been on - not so for our cabin but I'll get to that later.

There was enough to do during the day to keep most people entertained and the variety wasn't bad. Food was probably the best we've had in the casual dining -Oceanview L14 but slightly disappointed in some of the dining room meals. I found that a couple of the meat meals took a bit of chewing but overall pretty good. Our table was fantastic and we all got on really well thanks to 'The Browns and Vinney and Peggy'!

Cabin: On arrival I don't think our cabin had been vacuumed as there was quite a bit of 'stuff' on the floor - beads from a broken necklass, hairpins and carpet felt gritty. We had to ask for towels twice, ice and I don't think it should take housecleaning 3 goes each day to do our room. We questioned our cabin attendant but he just More said they'd not finished each time we asked. Our bottom sheet was ripped until 2 days before we left - obviously not changed and black marks in bathroom - maybe makeup never removed and probably still there.

The Photo Gallery would not put our photos onto a disk on a formal night when approached saying it was Formal night and couldn't be done even though they were there standing there at the time - and not busy. We had a trip to Sweden the next day which meant we were unable to take photos as our camera was full. This would have taken 5mins max to do for us.

The price of $15 for a shuttle into town knowing that was the only way we could get there was little more than a rip off and very disappointing. On previous cruises these have been free including free tenders.

Maybe this is a sign of the times 'user pays everything', reflected in the climbing number of speciality restaurants onboard.

But overall we had a fantastic time. Bar staff were attentive without being overbearing. Dining staff some of the nicest we've had and I'd use Eclipse again but maybe go up a deck or two.

On our previous cruises we've been higher up and wonder if the lower decks reflect the lower standard of cabin service we received. Less

Cabin review: Celebrity Eclipse Ocean View Stateroom Sunrise Deck (7) 3116

First time in a lower cabin and probably the last. Also first time Forward. Normally higher up and Aft. Not the cleanest although very quiet. A little hard to get into the closet but enough storage for two weeks stay. Spent the odd time in our cabin relaxing so would like to have something to watch on the television. Apart from a couple of news channels there wasn't much else.

Port and Shore Excursions

Landed at Zeebrugge in Belgium and took return train to Brugge which was cheap and easy. Walked around canals, churches etc lovely spot. It's an easy place to see without booking a tour. Great chocolate!

Paid for a tour that took in the Carlsberg Brewery then off to a typical Scandinavian cold buffet style lunch and worth paying for the tour. Again our guide was full of information and great English.

Paid for the shuttle bus into Helsinki - only 15mins. Not quite what I'd expected but still nice to visit. Markets great - bought a few second-hand bits and pieces to take home, there were lots to choose from. Fairly busy, with lovely parks and gardens but still had a relaxed atmosphere.

Booked coach from ship into Berlin where we just did 'our own thing' and blown away by memories as you can well imagine. It was lovely to see how many (even though there were thousands) stood beside Berliner Mauer (The Wall) and were respectful to those who lost their lives at the hands of others. As you can imagine it's full of history - Checkpoint Charlie, Brandenburg Gate, Potsdamer Platz etc.

Very busy but a must to see.

Unbelievable wealth for the wealthy. Two days in Russia is definitely not enough. We booked a two day tour (due to visa problems from our neck of the woods) but well worth the money. Again the history is too much to take in for a short visit but our tour guide was a walking/talking history book and her English was fantastic. I'd like to go back. Older buildings in pale green/blue/yellow/pink.

Slight drizzle on arrival but that didn't stop us from paying for yet another shuttle into town - 10mins. Passing so close to the many tiny island that make up this part of the world was amazing. You could almost reach out and touch the trees as we passed. Narrow cobblestone streets with lots of restaurants and shops. We didn't take a tour and just did our 'own thing' again and were completely happy with what we saw.

A wonderland of the past standing beside the modern. Shopping was a little expensive when I transferred it into our currency but best not to do that while on holiday anyway. Some streets reminded me a little of Corfu and again the buildings are the same muted colours of pale blue, green, yellow and pink.
