This ship had returned from a cruise the week of Hurricane Irene and the whole ship smelled funky. There was smells of vomit, feces and cigarette smoke in the air at all times in various parts of the ship. None of the staff would commit to why it was there or how to cure it. Speculation on my part is that there were a lot of folks upchucking on the previous cruise and the staff did not get it all cleaned up. I saw a carpet being relaid in a cabin. The carpet did not look worn.

The Lido breakfast buffet had only one omelet station at 7am and this guy was sooooo slow and used only two pans to cook the omelets. There was a long line and by the time the omelet was ready the rest of the food on our plates was cold and had to be dumped uneaten. Appeals to the supervisor went unheaded, all he could say was that the other two stations would be open after 8am.

I have been on Carnival ships many times(including the Glory) and never had a problem, the food choices seem to have been downgraded on this trip, hope this is not a trend.

Cabin Review

Compared to other cruise lines we had a good sized cabin for three adults and a child.

Mattress was a 5+ very comfortable and spacious.

Ceiling light fixture lens kept falling due to vibration of the ship. My guess was that the lens was cut too narrow.
