My husband and I just returned from a seven day Alaskan cruise aboard the Golden Princess which sailed from Seattle, WA.

The first impression was the swift and smooth embarkation. We were in our suite approximately 1/2 hour from the time we exited our cab at the pier! We had a suite on deck 15 aft, complete with every amenity we could have asked for and more; double balcony, tiled bathroom with separate vanity area, and whirlpool tub. The queen bed was very comfortable as well, complete with quality linens, pillows, etc. There were 2 flat screen TVs, and separate living area. We were greeted with fresh fruit and flowers, and a tray of petite 'sandwiches' of different variety. PH suite passengers are entitled to extras such as complimentary laundry and shoe shine services, special room service menu for breakfast, and initial mini bar set up, to name a few. Definitely recommend the suites, if an option! Our cabin steward service was second to none!

There are 2 'specialty' restaurants onboard. We opted to try the steakhouse, the Crown Grill, the first night, for a cover charge of $25 each. Had we known how good the food would be in the regular dining room each night, we probably would have bypassed the specialty dining; no need. We enjoyed delicious food at every meal in the dining room assigned to us for 'anytime dining'! The Promenade bar quickly became our favorite; great drinks and friendly bartenders are definitely a plus! In addition, there is an 'International Cafe' which serves up delicious specialty coffees, pastries, and quick lunch options such as soup of the day, quiche, and sandwiches/salads; all delicious!
