Alaskan Inside Passage

Sail Date: August 2011
Destination: Alaska
Embarkation: Seattle

This was our first cruise and Celebrity Infinity was highly recommended by co-workers. We went to the Seattle area a few days before cruising to visit friends.

The Infinity was really a wonderful cruiseline. The room steward was real attentive. The concierce went out of his way to help locate lost luggage from our flight. The customer relations was quite helpful.

The dining experience was terrific. We had a great relationship with the maitre d'came and spoke to us each night and even arranged for a special luncheon for our table with snitzle and spatle. The Baked Alaska and parade in the dining room was a real treat.

We found all 4 ports had a lot to experience and we enjoyed taking lots of pictures to remember the cruise by.

We plan to go back to some more Alaskan sights in the future. Less

Cabin review: Celebrity Infinity Inside Stateroom Continental Deck (2)

Our inside cabin was just right for us. Its' location gave us access to many of the services and programs we were interested in. We had an inside cabin because we did not plan to stay in it except to slept or rest some. The views from several areas around the ship were adequate. The cabin steward was very attentive and kept our space very clean.

Port and Shore Excursions

Juneau was a wonderful port and we enjoyed our experiences there. THe Mendenhall Glacier was a beautiful sight. The visitor's center and areas around gave us some wonderful views. The visitor's center also provided a informative movie about the glaciers and the area. The surprise of the excursion was the Glacier Gardens with the upside down trees which held floral arrangements. We thought we were going to just a garden and this turned out to be much more.

The Ketchikan port was just what we needed in the first excursion. We selected a totem pole park and a historic tour of the town. The tour guide was very informative and answered every question with ease. We had a handicapped young man and his parents and the tour guide was very accommodating.

Victoria was another beautiful port to visit. We chose to take the shuttle into Victoria and were glad we did this. The beatiful flowers around the downtown area were super. The Victoria Convention Center had a beautiful group of gardens outside its' entrance. Some of the flowers looked almost unreal. The walking around Victoria was a great treat for us. Our friends had told us to go to the Buchart Gardens, but we decided to do that another trip, so we could have plenty of time to really enjoy it.
