The good and the bad

Sail Date: August 2011
Destination: Bahamas
Embarkation: Jacksonville

Our flight was cancelled to fly down to Jacksonville because we are from NY, so we wound up driving to FL. The hotel we stayed at the night before was the Hyatt which was a very nice hotel that we booked through priceline.com

Embarktion was very quick, we were on the ship in unde an hour of arriving at it.

Food- The breakfast on the ship was one of the worst things on the ship. The eggs were disgusting, the sausage and bacon were sticky and gross, the omelette bar was time consuming and not worth the wait. The pizza, deli, and dining room were excellent. the lunch and dinner buffets were much better then breakfast.

Entertainment- Our family loved the trivia, it was very often and we won 3 ships on sticks! Bingo was fun but 20 dollars per card! and it was often only one game! but the last day someone won $1000. There were ping-pong tournaments, dance parties, and the shows were fantastic. The arcade was nohing special but I won a digital camera! the casino More was small and crowded.

Service- All the staff were excellent. Our room attendent Manohor was always excited to see us and was excellent. My family loved the towel animals and chocolates on or pillow.

Not many things were included- coffee shop, candy, some activities, soda, drinks, arcade, photos were all not included. Although some of the pictures came out very good.

Our cruise stopped at Key West and Nassau. We went snorkeling in Key West, My sister got a jelly fish sting, and the rest of my family didn't like it. Nassau, we went to Atlantis and the water park was unbelievable but the place was huge!

Other then some obnoxious adults and kids, the big crowd of people did not bother me to much. We did not go to camp carnival, circle c, or club O2. And there were some time on the ship when we had nothing to do and just had to stand around.

We might try another crusise line next time but this was a good first cruise. Less

Cabin review: Carnival Fascination Upper/Lower Empress R95

The interior rooms are very small. Although it is ok becaue you don't spend too much time in there. The bathroom cannot fit more then 2 people in it, it is extremely small. We were on the riviera deck and it was always quiet.

Port and Shore Excursions

We went om a snorkeling excursion which we did not like. It was not enjoyable although the staff were very nice, we did not have a good time. The shops and resteraunts were great though.

The only nice part of Nassau is Atlantis. The rest is very rundown. The waterpark was fantastic (although it cost $360 for 4 people). All the slides were very fun. Although the place was huge and we kept getting lost. Right when you get off the ship you are being bombarded with guys asking you if you need a cab ride. Be careful of that.
