We cruised on the carnival dream from August 20th-August 27th. This was are 7th cruise and our 5th with carnival. In this review i will try to give as must detail as i can.
After a great Rc cruise in August of 2010 my wife wanted to try the Carnival dream. We booked to balcony cabin 8390 and 8392. My wife and I sayed in one and my 3 boys aged 11,10.9 stayed in the other cabin.
We got to the pier around 1pm and we were on the boat within 20 minutes. we walked up to deck 10 to get something for lunch. As you would expect there were long lines and the food was average at best, and that might be putting it nice. after lunch we walked down to our staterooms. Nothing special as far as the rooms were concerned however they were very clean. Our room steward was great however we never saw him. Our rooms were always made and taken care of however my wife and i never saw them.
The main dinning room food has gone down hill. I understand when your mass producing food that you cant spend the time that you might need to make each dish perfert. However most items werent cooked properly and everyone seems to be doing the least possible.
The main thing that stuck out to me was the lack of things to do aboard the ship at night. Most activitys eather cost money or are trying to sell you something. unless you want to spend your entire cruise in the casino there is not much to do.
The ports were nice belize is nice once you get out of the cruise terminal. We used cave-tubing.com they were about half the price of the cruise ship and they really made sure everyone had a great time and got use back to the ship 2 hours before we had to depart.
use victor buddon he is the best enough said. if you dont use him your wasting your day.
is a made up port where if you want to go swimming and drink is great other then that there is really not much to do there.
was great as alway we went to mr sanchos. this is a public beach about 7 miles from the pier. if you want to go somewhere really nive and no be in all the crowds this is the place for you. A taxi will cost you 15 for up to 4 people and 20 for 5 or more.
One of my biggest problems with carnival is that everyone seems to be going though the motions. No one really seems to care enough to go out of there way for you. Most of them seem like they hate there jobs, and if you ask them they will tell you. Carnival has great advertising and promotions and you cant beat the price. However there service is lacking and they are cutting cost at every turn. if you have the money go to royal. yes it will cost you about 200 per person more however it is well worth it. next year i wll be going on rc. they seem to care just a little more and the means something when im swipping my sign and sail card.
