The people :
The passengers were mostly retired cruisers and families going on summer vacation. Did not see a lot of younger couples and cruisers.
The Ship :
It's smaller that our previous cruises. But generally quite well maintained. The room was small but layout was quite efficient. The cabinet, drawers and racks helped keep our belongings organized. Wished they had one more electrical socket beside the bed.
Dining room food quality was good, no complaints. The Rigoletto dining room anytime was a more free for all style rather than the mytime on RCI. The downside is since this is a small ship they do not allow you to eat at a table for 2 until 8pm or later. This was a shame as it did not allow you to really get to know your waiter as we did whe we were on RCI. While the service was fair we felt a bit more taken cared of when we cruised on our earlier sailings.
Buffet was a serious hit or miss. The choices are less compared to what we saw earlier, so when it misses you can have a day when everything is bad. They do not really have any specialties that can't go wrong or something that's alway's right. So I can see how some reviewers can go to the buffet once and then never go back. If you have the time, hit the dining room for higher chance of success. Otherwise for a quick bite the buffet is a roll of the dice. Did not deter us though as we still tried our luck 2 times a day. My other gripe is that the buffet always seems to be packed, especially at breakfast and lunch. The staff try their best but overall they may need to figure out how to expand the buffet or better layout the floor to avoid this.
Cruise director and staff were friendly and very approachable. Staff on the sea princess was great. Everyone was friendly, preofessional and very helpful.
Shows were of high quality. Vader was hilarious. The magician and hypnotist they brough in were also very good. The production show are a bit smaller in scale but was energetic and choreography was good.
Juneau was raining. Mendenhall was nice, could not hike beacause everything was wet and slippery. Juneau downtown is very limited to people that like shopping.
Glacier Bay. It was raining and a bit chilly, but Glacier bay is phenomenal. Something everyone should try to put in their bucket list.
Haines. Wildlife galore. Bears, 16 of them. Eagles. Salmon jumping out of chilkoot.
Ketchikan. Seemed to be very touristy and a bit more developed. Another shopping town. Tooked the Bering Sea Crab Fisherman's tour. Loved it. Got to see Derrick Rey from deadliest catch.
