A Cheap and very cheerfull little cruise

Sail Date: August 2011
Destination: Europe - British Isles & Western
Embarkation: London (Tilbury)

Hello.

We have just come back from a short cruise on the Marco Polo. This is our second cruise on the Marco Polo. The Long term parking and check-in at Tilbury is really quick and easy. The staff very helpful with all aspects of the boarding process.

The ship is small, but has every thing you require. The food is very good and the drinks are of a reasonable price. The cabins are teat and tidy and kept clean as is the whole ship.

The entertainment is limited but is ok.

The shore excursions will very well done, no problems. The access for wheal chair user's is not as good as the more modern ships, but you can still get around.

The disembarking was one of the quickest we have seen, well organised. We would recommend the Marco Polo to the seasoned cruise traveller.

Cabin review: Marco Polo 627

We Had a up grade to Ocean View superior twin, on Amundsen deck, very nice, lots of luggage space, nice and clean and well kept. The Cabins could do with a little more sound proofing, but overall very good

Port and Shore Excursions

The port of Amsterdam is well worth a look round. a very lively place, many young people. We went on a City tour by coach and a Canal boat tour, well worth the money. Most people spoke English in the shops. The houses and shops and a mass of little bridge's make Amsterdam a most to visit.

Antwerp is a lovely Port, the Marco Polo birthed right in the centre, oppiste the Grote Market, very nice buildigs and Church's . The Market square is a Great place to sit and have beer or Coffee and the world go by. Not as busy as Amsterdam, but relaxed, the people very friendley. The streets and paths mainly cobbled, but clean and well sign posted. The Shopkeepers all spoke English, and the Chocalate's are just perfect.
