This was a cruise designed to wipe away the bad memories of my last one (see my review of the Pride of Aloha from last July). If that was the stated purpose, it exceeded expectations! It was the first cruise my wife and I have taken "just the two of us" in five years, though we are both veteran cruisers. We sailed on the Rhapsody of the Seas, departing Galveston on January 16th.

Our stateroom was 8517, billed as a large inside cabin. It was plenty big for the two of us, and only once did it being under the pool area come into play -- the sailaway party leaving Key West at midnight. My one beef about the cabin was the small TV. There was no listing of channels in the cabin, and there was no listing of which movies were shown when. This was all the more problematic because they chose not to show any movies in the theatre because one of the screens was broken (so why not show it on the other one?).

Our air travel was arranged through the cruise line. Everything went smoothly. About a 30 minute wait between getting our luggage and boarding the bus to go to Galveston (took about 90 minutes). Embarkation was one of the smoothest I have experienced. Our room was ready when we got there, and our luggage arrived before the muster station drill.
