Carnival Glory

Sail Date: August 2011
Destination: Canada & New England
Embarkation: New York (Manhattan)

Second cruise on the Glory out of New York.

Embarkment: Arrived, dropped off bags a little after noon. Park at pier for $30/day. Went through security at 1:30. Stood in line for SeaPass for more than 1 1/2 hours. Finally boarded ship at 3:10.

Cabin: Had a balcony cabin deck 10, no complaints.

Dining: Requested a table for 2, got a table for 10 which was quickly remedied by the reataurant captain. Dining room was at the aft of the ship and had a lot of vibration. Food for the most part was very good.

Buffet: Long lines for both breakfast and lunch, to get a dessert at lunch another long line.

Steakhouse: Not great, not horrible. We did it on formal night, recommend doing it on turkey night.

Pizza: Open 24 hrs and very good, much better than other cruise lines.

Disembarkment: It was a bigger nightmare than embarkment. Waited 3 hours on the ship for Zone 10 to be called. Again, long wait in line to get off the ship and Customs was really More backed up. Once off the ship, we used a porter and guess we saved an two hours.

Final Comments: I thought the food in the MDR was very good. The lines getting on and off the ship were at best horrible, not to mention the buffet at breakfast and lunch.

Perhaps it was just our sailing, but we were very disappointed in this cruise. Less
