Ship Facts: Thomson Spirit Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Thomson Spirit Deck Plans
A friendly and relaxing 'spirit'
After reading all the reviews before we went we were rather apprehensive but we found the holiday overall great, hope the following helps future cruisers on the spirit.

Flight: No problems, very efficiently dealt with by the thomson staff at Corfu airport, although we were on the 3.20 from maanchester wouldn.t go on that late flight again, the return journey not as good, nothing to do with thomson but Corfu airport itself.

Arrival on board: Taken straight to our cabin 533i cases followed within minutes.

Cabin: We were on deck 3, our cabin had a D/B 2 very good sized wardrobes, plenty of coat-hangers, 2 dressing tables, 2 bedside tables. the shower room is small but had sink and worktop and good sized cabinet.

Restaurants: We ate in the Compass for lunch and dinner where it is waiter service, it is open sitting and we sat with differeent people each day and night, it was great, made lots of friends with this system, food excellent.

The Lido is buffet, we used this for breakfast only, plenty of choice. Inside and outside sitting. There is an al'carte which we didn't use, friends did and told us it was very good service, you pay about £15 ea. good for special occasion.

Entertainment: the Broadway is the main one with excellent shows every night, one night they did the show 'africa' stunning, the team work extremely hard. High spirits is where you dance and have quizs and listen to the 'prime men' they were bril. Raffles is the piano bar and casino. The Horizon is on deck 9 very relaxing up there. All in all all bars and entertainment makes your cruise enjoyable. The sail-away night from Corfu had a party on the Lido deck dancing to the 'prime men'.

Ports: Montenegra fabulous the sail down the fjord into the port was amazing, we walked into Kotor ourselves and into the lovely old square.

Slovenia: walked into Koper not alot to see.

Venice: We caught the people mover just outside port gates it was 1euro each to P'roma to catch the water bus down the grand canal 6.50 each, we arrived in St. Marks sq at 9.30am, before it got to busy. Returned by the same way, total cost 30 euros for 2.

Split: Walked in and around the old palce walls.

Dubrovnik: Caught bus in from just outside port. Paid 10 eu to walk the walls very hot but this is a must the views are sensational. bus back (1a) at the same stop you get off at.

We had a lovely time on the spirit it is a small ship but all the stall are friendly and can't do enough for you. But i am afraid you will always meet people who moan about anything and brag about R/C and P&O. Very good value for money especially if you had the £100 spend on board. Hope readers find this helpful - enjoy yourselves.
