From the outside a beautiful skyscraper style ship. Inside it looks bland. Entertainment is poor. If you like 1960 Butlin's style entertainment this cruise may be for you. No 'donkey derbys' but lots of passengers versus crew games - in the pool, on deck and in the casino. Shows were of a poor quality. Everything seemed to end at 10pm and then the ship was like the 'Marie Celeste'. Twice there were dance parties on deck (lasting 45 mins) and they were fab but ended promptly and then there was nothing to do. Two night out of 14 is poor.
The ship is geared up for specialist restaurants (at an extra cost per person), cocktail bars etc.
This is the first ship to have real grass on board. But why? There is one croquet set and a 'thing' to throw bean bags in. It's not a place to sit and relax.
We were in Aqua class which gives extras but certainly not worth it. Our restaurant was 'Blu'. Food was average. Staff were over attentive.
The cabin was a good size and clean. The balcony floor wasn't clean and a small drainage channel at the bottom of the balcony glass front was filthy. Never cleaned. There was an upper deck overhang and so the balcony was always in the shade. This suited me but many people like to sit in the sun.
The bed smelled 'musty'. The duvet, bottom sheet and pillow cases were white, clean and soft cotton. The top sheet was a crumpled brown cotton sheet. Most strange. I would have loved thick cotton sheets - something like you would get in a hotel. The ship is only 2 year old, so I'm assuming the bed linen can only be this age too. But it was very 'charity shop like'.
Excursions weren't good and badly organised.
We had trouble finding our luggage when disembarking. Badly organised.
Please don't let me put you off but do think carefully before you book.
This is a new ship and should be a step forward and not a step back.
