Go for the Victory Itinerary!!!

Sail Date: August 2011
Destination: Southern Caribbean
Embarkation: San Juan

Embarking was fast and efficient. Do not believe the negative reviews. Food was great. Drinks were good. Make sure to have your wine (1 per person) in your carry on luggage, not checked. We flew, so we bought it at the CVS in San Juan across from the pier. Good prices and decent selection of wine there.

The staff was amazing as always. It blows my mind that people complain about the hard workers on the ships. The only complaints I would have would be towards rude passengers!! And please, if you are going to cruise, dont be cheap. These people leave their family and home for months at a time to make you towel animals and bring you yet another chocolate melting cake, so tip well and treat them with some respect and decency.

Ship was always clean. No bad smells. I like the rooms on the first floor. Its quiet and peaceful. No sea sickness at all, but bring some Dramamine pills just in case.

Didnt see any shows, not my thing. Didnt go to dance clubs either. The More comedians were decent. Like the adult shows. Less

Cabin review: Carnival Victory Interior Riviera 1214

Quiet location. Plenty of space for a couple. 2 closets, very spacious. Comfy bed.

Port and Shore Excursions

Did the Shasa Catamaran tour and loved the sea turtle snorkel, but water was choppy and didnt have time left for beaches. Wish we would have went to Bottom Bay beach. Also, dont try to explore Bridgetown on foot. Will walk for miles and only come across a small overpriced shopping mall.

Go to Brimstone Hill!! Its easy, just get a cab. Rates are posted, share one if you can to cut costs. Island tours are also fairly cheap. The fortress has the best views on the island and is really cool for all ages and interests. Beaches are all right. Rent a wave runner for good views.

Two words..Spencer Ambrose!!! If you go to St Lucia...do your tour with Spencer!!! The most amazing tour of my life. 7 hours, saw everything the island had to offer. Amazing beach, boat ride around the island, homemade bread from the locals, a volcano, the Pitons and the BEST run punch!! Spencer is so very knowledgable and nice. You wont want to leave!!! Also, he tries to help the local kids out with school supplies, so if you can spare a small bag, it really helps. Everything is imported there, so very high prices for the local students. You will not be dissapointed with this tour!

Great beaches! I loved Orient Beach. Go to Pedros for great music and food. Get the ghuvaberry colada. Delicious. Again, cabs are everywhere. Second favorite beach!

Took the ferry from Red Hook to St. John, Cruz Bay, then a cab to Trunk Bay. Worth the trip!!! The MOST amazing beach in the world, hands down. Best snorkeling Ive ever seen. Big, bright fish. Crysal clear waters. Calm winds. Gorgeous. View cant be beat any place in the world. Total cost-$75 for 2 people. Didnt book any Carnival tours..like to spend our money in the local economy.
