We just sailed for 7 nights aboard the Liberty of the Seas out of Barcelona, Spain to the western Med ports of call - Toulon and Nice in France, Livorno, Civitavecchia and Naples in Italy. For a first time in Europe cruise, we were very pleased with the ports of call and felt that we got a great taste of France and Italy. We had sailed on the Liberty of the Seas previously in the Caribbean. The ship is outstanding - it is easy to get around and the public areas are all wonderful. The service is outstanding - all of the personnel we encountered could not have been nicer and more willing to help us in any way and ensure our cruise experience was outstanding. Our room attendant, Calixto and waiter, Johnathon could not have been better. The cabin was excellent - the mattress was very comfortable and we had an excellent location mid-ship on deck 8 - it was peaceful without a lot of traffic down the hallway. We booked our own air reservations and used the LimoRes company recommended by RCCL for rides to and from home/airport and airport to port in Barcelona. The company was prompt, the drivers were courteous, well dressed, and the pricing is all-inclusive - I would recommend them if you need car service. We also booked tours in 2 ports via RCCL and booked tours in 3 ports via a private tour company that was recommended by a friend. More specific reviews of ports will be provided in each port review. Overall, the cruise was outstanding and enjoyed by each member of my family including my 19 and 16 year old daughters who said they loved it and were never bored for even 1 minute - that is an amazing accomplishment. They loved the ports of call and they loved the tours even more. RCCL and the Liberty of the Seas provide a great cruise experience.

Cabin Review

Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D1

Great location, quiet hallway, bed was comfortable and balcony had a great view. Closet was roomy - just wish the shower was a little bigger :)
