Check in was smooth, large check in area, well managed.
Got on board and went right over to the Tsar's palace. Then shortly after dropping off our luggage to the cabin, went to the top deck to enjoy the spectacular view of the Manhattan skyline.
Food: Stick with the 4 standard restaurants, food was clean and well prepared. Decent variety of foods, plenty of pizza and pasta, good salad bar. The focus with the staff is quality, so everything was served fresh. Counters and tables were clean, good clean-up and restocking of utensils, condiments
Kids had a blast with the choice of food.
For the late nighters: The Blue lagoon cafe was a hit, the chicken wings are a must even for you critics out there.
Rooms: We had a balcony in our 4 seater state-room. Rooms were fairly large with a adequate sized bathroom.
Shore excursions: Did the Cape canaveral NASA trip which was well worth the money. Also did an excursion to Atlantis in Nassau. Trip prices were $89/- per adult for NASA, and $59 per head to Atlantis. The advantage of booking a trip thru NCL is that, they get you off and on the ship with plenty of time. Booked independently, you may be looking at a $10/- savings. I would still recommend going with the NCL's shore excursion program.
Housekeeping was excellent. Rooms were constantly cleaned and maintained. Anbari and Rudi were our housekeepers and they did an excellent job.
On Board Entertainment: Good quality shows, John Pierre( the magician) was hilarious. A def must see.
The NCL production cast, the cirque Bijou, even the ABBA special were superb. For the kids, a reminder, NCL is a nicklodeon ship, so where-ever you turn, you'd find sponge-bob, patrick, fat boy and chum chum and dora. From getting slimed, to learning about magic to even learning about napkin folding, the kids will have a blast.
