Parking at the NYC cruise dock was very convenient, but costs $210. We could not find any comparable alternative. We arrived at noon and had no problem finding a parking space close to the elevators. You pay in full in advance, pull up about 15 feet, drop off your passengers, and a porter takes your bags. You are then directed to a parking spot, take your keys, and proceed to check in, which moved pretty quickly.
We were surprised to find the pool and whirlpools open on embarkation. We had packed a carry on with bathing suits just in case, and were glad we did, because our luggage arrived later. The buffet was open with lots of choices, both hot and cold.
Although we didn't have dinner at the Lido buffet during the cruise, I noticed that they served the complete dining room menu each night. It is self serve at night, but most nights there are tablecloths out. Anytime dining was crowded between 7:30 and 8:30. You needed to get there by 7:15 or after 8:45 to avoid a line.
Quiet, lots of storage space, very comfortable mattresses, a/c worked great, generous sized bathroom.
