My family and I just got back from the Dream eastern Caribbean cruise. We had a great time even though our itinerary was changed due to TS Emily. We were very happy with our deluxe stateroom and we felt that we had plenty of room and the extra shower area was a real plus especially while everyone was getting ready. There were numerous activities aboard the ship and we were never bored. My kids (4,11) loved the water park and mini golf. They really didn't enjoy the Camp Carnival and preferred to stay with us. Entertainment was much better on this ship than other Carnival ships I have been on. The casino was wide and I never felt crowded there as I have on other ships. The buffet area was large and accommodated us very nicely. We never had to search long for a place to sit and eat and the food was very good.

The only problem we had was in the dining room. Our service was horrible. Endless waits for drink refills including water. Our dinner service averaged 2 hours a night and the last night we decided not even to show up and just eat at the buffet. I have dined on other ships and usually service is impressive. I guess since they started automatic tips, there is no incentive for the staff to do well. The matre d was a joke. He never came by our table once to ask how our service was, he was more content to be the MC for the dinner show that the waiters put on for the guests. I honestly don't know if it was just our waiter or others but other guests I spoke with did say they have had better dining experiences elsewhere on other ships.

I saw on other reviews, folks had a problem with the ships motion or smells, but I experienced none of that. We had smooth sailing and the ship was very clean at all times.
