If your a hard working person looking for a relaxing vacation for the family with no worries as you cruise, for me this was not the ship. I had no problem with the $12 per person per day added automatically for gratuities. MOST of the staff went far and above our expectations. I also understand the charges for cocktails and even for soft drinks. But come on, for afternoons and evenings all NCL had to offer as FREE beverages was unsweetened tea and water. Juices were only served in the morning with breakfast. NCL doesn't allow or better yet doesn't want you to fill up your own private cup with these Juices either. Or ice. For me this was one of the biggest turn offs. $50 for a Soft drink cup for the week.
Everything was about the $$$. Go to the gym class $$$ for a BMI test. Art work over priced. Most of the games you can participate in $$$. Bingo, Deal or No Deal $$$. After paying over 2 grand to get on the ship seeing the way things were I was prepared to pay at least in my opinion an average of $600 extra when I departed. I was not far off. The better restaurant's $$$.
All in all if your cruising on some type of budget which I'm sure is not all the time. ( But for this one we were. ) To me it was disappointing constantly being charged for this and that. Not my idea of a great vacation when you have to balance a mental check book. My advice research the ship in advance before booking. Other ships have a greater " bang for your buck". For all those who don't mind the extra charges :-) happy for you. There were not as many lounges on this ship compared to others I have seen.
Satisfied with the stateroom for what I paid. Bathrooms very small. Very thin hallways.
