Sun Princess Jan. 8 - 18, 2005 10 nights Southern Caribbean

Booked this cruise with future cruise consultant onboard the Coral Princess in December 2003. Husband and wife together paid $2829.28 (fare plus tax) and paid $298 for Princess Cruise Gold insurance. BB category room with balcony.

Embarkation Day -- It's a 5-hour drive from our house to Port Everglades. We unload the luggage at the curb and then park the car in the garage. When you enter the port and show your passport, give them the name of your ship and ask which pier you need. Sun Princess was at pier 19 and Caribbean Princess was at pier 2. We goofed and went to pier 2 which is the normal spot for a Princess ship, but were stopped by the baggage handlers and told to head to pier 19. Another couple wasn't so lucky (we heard) and almost got on board the wrong ship. It must have been a mess for them to get their luggage back. Keep your garage parking stub somewhere in the car in a spot you'll find it again easily. Write down the level you are parked on. Yes, you may think you'll remember, but write it down on a piece of paper to carry in your wallet. We had 2 small rolling suitcases as our carry on luggage with our comfortable pillows balanced on top of one and my heavy purse on top of the other. These rolling bags contained valuables and breakables plus the clothes we planned to wear later at dinner. In the terminal building, the line for the Aloha Deck was long and slow partly due to a group of people ahead of us asking a lot of questions. Be kind and please keep your questions to a minimum when you are checking in at the terminal.
