This cruise was a graduation gift for our nephew. It was selected because he really wanted to go to Jamaica, and it was one that offered that port of call in the time period in which we all could travel. It was very expensive compared to other things available and this particular was much more costly than it normally was. Our party had a total of thirteen people including 2 over 60, 3 in their 40's, 3 in their 30's, a 19 year old, and four children. We did not stay in a hotel because a relative lives in Miami so we stayed there, instead.
The ship holds a good number of passengers, about 2600. There are over 1300 staterooms. It had a nice number of balcony rooms compared to some of the other ships we have experienced. This ship seemed as though it could use a bit of updating. Some things were just beginning to look rather worn. In addition, the decor was rather "Las Vegas" style, in my opinion. I think that it might just be the style that Carnival uses. It seemed rather glittery to me.
They offered a nice number of activities for the guests. You had the typical Bingo, shows, and games. I always love the ones that are presented by the kitchen staff, and I didn't see anything for that.
under the pool, so lots of sloshy water noise, but it didn't really bother me
