The Celebrity Eclipse is a 5 star floating hotel, the layout of the ship is excellent, and easy to find your way around and doesn't feel overwhelming even though it has 15 decks. The ship fittings and decorations are finished to an extremely high standard. The Moonlight Sonata dining room and the Ensemble lounge bar are just to examples of this.
Meals- We used the Oceanview buffet restaurant for lunch and afternoon tea, the variety of food was amazing, however we only used this area for breakfast once as it was really busy with limited seating for the number of people using the Oceanview at that time in the morning, we opted for silver service breakfast in the Moonlight Sonata.
We had the late seating for dinner 2045 in the Moonlight Sonata the standard of food was very high and matched the impeccable service, nothing was too much trouble for the waiters. We also dined at the Murano and Tuscan Grill (for which there was a service charge) the food was phenomenal, we had scallop wellington, goats cheese souffle to start followed by Fillet Mignon and Venison
steak, and the sweet was to die for crepe bombe rouge well worth the extra. In the Tuscan we had crab cake and mozzarella salad, followed by a soup course of seafood. the main courses were a seafood risotto to die for and rib eye steak which was succulent, and to finish we both had Tiramisu.
Port excursion were extremely well organised, which avoided any confusion, considering the numbers on board. The prices for the excursion varied but some were a little on the expensive side. you also had to pay for the shuttle bus from the ship into the town which I felt should have been included in the price of the holiday
The stateroom was just adequate in size with ample storage space we took extra coat hangers which was essential, the drawers in the dressing table and the shower room were not very deep and therefore didn't hold much. the stewards were very obliging and they keep the cabin spotless
Entertainment- had its own cast in the theatre but had guest entertainers joining and leaving the ship at different ports, all in all entertainment very good. when the ship was at sea there was a schedule of events throughout the day if you wished to participate. i.e Glass Blowing, chef demonstrations, talks on various subjects and several different wine tastings
Embarkation and disembarkation was well organised
