Queen of the Fjords: Queen Elizabeth Cruise Review by rjss59

Queen of the Fjords
Destination: Baltic Sea
This was our first ever cruise and I am disabled and my partner has diabetes. Yet everyone from Cunard was so helpful. There was nothing too much trouble for them when looking after us on board.
The stateroom was a wonderful size and although the view was slightly obstructed there was no complaint from us - just go down one floor and you have all of the deck 3 to get unobstructed views from the deck.
Public areas were so tastefully prepared - the art deco look is very restful and too a high quality.
Food, food, food - everywhere and to such a high standard - we tried nearly all the available venues and can honestly say that the standard, quality, presentation and temperature of the food was some of the best we have ever experienced (and my partner has over 30 years in the catering More industry).
Was it totally perfect - not quite - the trip gets 9.95 out of 10. The two areas to watch:
1) the soft drinks package - only worth it if all you will drink is non-alcoholic. All alcoholic drinks come with free mixers anyway - so only take out package if you will take at least 4 non-alcoholic drinks per day (and remember the package relates only to the person who purchased it - not transferable between all guests in party).
2) Entertainment - still needs some work on - bands and singers were really strong but the dancers and some of the set pieces (Neil Simon extracts??) may not be to all tastes.
Would we go back? - YES/YES/YES
Will we go back soon? - Already looking to book
Would we recommend to anyone else? - Of course Less

Quiet location midships. No crew noise (even though crew bar is on same deck). Easy access to lifts and public floors.
