Traveled with children

This was our first DCL experience and it was fabulous!! We traveled with our 4 & 9 year old children who are Disney fanatics and they had a blast. On date of departure we were able to upgrade from Cat. 9 to a Cat. 5 for a charge, however, highly recommend a veranda.

Pros: Entertainment was tops! Rooms were slightly larger than other lines. The split bathrooms were a plus especially with young ones. Palo Restaurant is a must reserve immediately when embarking -- Did both the brunch and dinner, both were superb!!!!! Oceaneers Clubs really catered to the children. Staff there was professional, nurturing, knowledgeable and couldn't make our children happier. Castaway Key -- a beautiful place -- great BBQ.

Cons: Should eliminate Grand Cayman as a port -- too much hurricane damage, not worth seeing. Kids' pools not designed large enough for the 900+ children on board. It was not fun waiting soooo long for character autographs -- should have a better system, we missed the first half of our dinner waiting so long. Food at buffets was comparable to cafeteria quality. Could've been better. Elevators are a joke! Extremely slow and you need to stay back to see when they open or else you'll miss them. The darn doors close soooo fast! Frustrating! Tried to rebook while on board to get the special discount and future on-board credit, and believe it or not she always had too long of a line. Should have more than just one character breakfast on the 7 night cruises.
