First, our 16-year old did find friends at the Teen Orientation on the first night and, other than excursion days, was able to find them again. The Teen Room supervisors allowed a 19-year-old to hang with the 15-17 year olds, which made us parents very uncomfortable and we told them so. However, our Teen avoided him (the 19-year-old) and did not stay in the Teen room when he was there. Most days/nights the Teens did very little but having 2 teens to hang out with helped the cruise experience enormously. Food Allergies; Our child has Dairy and Egg food allergies and on this point Celebrity was outstanding. In the Main Dining Room they allowed us to review the next day's menu to select a meal that could be made without dairy and eggs and when no substitute was possible, they made a dessert specifically for us. Problem is, our teen is now hooked on "chilled soup" and has asked for it since arriving home! Noisy Room: I noted our cabin number because it is DIRECTLY above the Night Club, ruining our first night on the ship completely. The Program Director should be chastised because this is the WRONG cruise for music into the wee hours of the morning right above a cabin designated for FAMILIES (plus there were only six people in the nightclub that night). The room shook from the base and earplugs made it worse. The crew worked very hard to "make this right" the next day and gave us a second, "sleeping cabin" away from the music on the next floor up. This worked relatively well, and they sent a bottle of wine to say "Sorry," but hauling our sleeping stuff upstairs every night was not fun nor was the cot (for our child) anything near comfortable, so I put up with the music a few nights to get decent beds for all. A disclaimer should come with this room on all future cruises. We booked early enough that another room could have been offered. Otherwise, we would consider cruising with Celebrity again. Fitness Center: was always booked and many passengers stayed on their machines beyond the 20 minute limit. That was annoying; we turned around and left on at least one occasion and had no incentive to return with that possibility happening again. Very bad. The balcony was a life-saver; really, we sat out there at some point every day and night because we all got a little claustrophobic on the ship after 7 days. The Family cabin allowed plenty of room for our clothing and I think being in the very back of the boat was very nice, although it may have been more rocky for my husband (because he gets sea-sick) the two times we went through rough waters.
