If I had to name the best thing about our cruise, it would be the entire staff and crew....top to bottom....from to back. Everyone was extremely well-trained, efficient, courteous, intelligent, and committed to seeing that our vacation would be as flawless as possible. All our other cruise experiences paled in comparison to this one.

The ship was in excellent condition and kept spotlessly.

EMBARKATION: We took a private cab from our hotel in Rome to the port in Civitavecchia. Upon arrival there we were handed a letter explaining that on the previous cruise there had been an outbreak of Norovirus (58 cases) and that our boarding would be delayed by 2 hours so that extra cleaning could take place. Naturally, this was alarming news. But we decided to make the best of it. Because of this unusual situation, I would say that boarding that day was a bit confused and probably less organized than usual. Lines for check-in were very long as guests waited for the check-in desks to finally open. We were told to wait in the public lounges on board until we would be allowed into our cabins, which was about 2 PM.
