Ship Facts: Norwegian Sky Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Norwegian Sky Deck Plans
Scary plumbing problem in room #9040
I just warn you that Norwegian Sky state room #9040 is scary room, so if you know that you've got this room before you get on the ship, ask them to change to another room!!!

As soon as we walked in the room, we knew something is not right.

Mildew everywhere, smell moldy, carpet is soaking wet from plumbing problem. They know the room has this problem but didn't do muck but just putting huge dryers in the room & saying "Oh, sorry, you just have to deal with this".

We got this room. The smell of mildew gave us headache, all my clothes & suitcase got this moldy smell form this wet carpet.

They put 3 HUGE dryer in the room so we could not take a nap, or even just relax in the room!! Noise from this dryer was like you are standing next to airplane.

They refuse to acommodate us ANYWAY until we took a video of the room & mildew under carpet, and threat them to put the video on Youtube!! We were so frustrated, they were really not interested to help us. we were just another victim of ROOM #9040 on Norwegian Sky!!

They kept telling us that they don't have any other room open. So best they can do is put huge dryer on the room to dry.

They finally moved us to different room which doesn't have mildew problem or soaking wet carpet... was our 3rd day of vacation on the ship.

Until they moved us to another room, we had to cover ourselves with sheets when we slept because we didn't breath mold. we couldn't walk in the room without shoes.

But as soon as we show customer service our room video, they moved us to room above in 15 minutes!!

They offer to treat us to nice on ship restaurant too. I guess this is their way to say "SORRY~!!" NIce gesture, but we just wanted to have nice vacation time with family. (our family reunion of 13) This room ordeal ruined it. We work so hard to get vacation time. So all we wanted was nice clean room, so we can have a nap when we want etc... this we mildew filled of carpet & huge noisy dryer ruined our vacation.

SO, be aware, do not stay in Room 9040 on Norwegian Sky!!!

PS: Besides, Norwegian Sky was nice ship. Besides room #9040, everything, everywhere was clean. Food was great!! All entertaiment is nice. Housekeeping guys are wonderful!! ( exclude house keeping manager, he was not helping us at all, he said he is tired of dealing with this wet carpet problem too much for few weeks)
