Wonderful Cruise

Sail Date: July 2011
Destination: Panama Canal & Central America
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

First of all, unlike other reviewers, I'm not going to go into the little details of what we ate and wore prior to arriving at the port.

We took the Carnival transfer from the airport to the terminal, waited in line only 10 minutes, another 10 minutes for our documents and we were up the gangway to the ship.

Great room on the Lido deck only steps away from the action.

Entertainment first rate, great stage shows, high end productions, Carnival still has the live orchestra and they were awesome.

Other entertainers throughout the ship were very good, Reggae band, rock and roll, pop duet and more.

Plenty of other activities throughout the day and evening

Food was wonderful, ate in the Chic dining room, any time plan, never waited mort than 5 minutes for out table, all the wait staffs were excellent, very attentive, kept refilling the water, checked on us frequently.

Quality of food was very good, lots of choices each night, More desserts were awesome. Food in the buffets were very good, omelet stations, Mongolian bbq, deli, fish and chips and much much more

Only issue with food was two of the seafood dishes did not correspond to the description on the menu. Seafood Newburg contained mussels and grilled snapper was really Mahi Mahi, both were two strong for out tastes, wait staff apologized and brought different dishes.

Enjoyed all the ports, especially Costa Rica and Panama, did the canal tour, and national park beach in Costa Rica and the Embere Indian village and Canal tour in Panama, don't miss the Indian village, what an experience..In Mexico we went to the Mayan ruins in Tulum, would not recommend this, requires miserable ferry ride to Playa Del Carmen and then a long bus ride to and fro. In Cozumel, take the jeep excursion around the island, much more fun. Book your tours with independent operators, much less expensive than Carnival and much smaller groups, you don't have the wasted time of loading any unloading 75 people.

Ship was beautiful they have adult only only areas in the bow and stern, very peaceful, no kids rule strictly enforced.

All in all, a great value, if your one of those chronic complainers who wants to be recognized by the Captain every day and wants fresh squeezed OJ delivered to your room, spend 5 times and much and take a Seabourn cruise, otherwise, recognize this for what it is and enjoy it Less
