Beautiful Baltic Bonanza

Sail Date: June 2011
Destination: Baltic & Northern Europe
Embarkation: Amsterdam

This was our first Celebrity cruise for a few years, in recent times we have been Azamara regulars, it was the itinerary & port of embarkation that attracted us.

The booking was made quite late and was for a guaranteed concierge cabin.

This is the first time we have booked guaranteed and it worked out OK but I am not sure that we would have chosen this cabin location ourselves.

We live in Yorkshire England & only had a one hour flight to Amsterdam which was a great way to join a cruise.

Cruise line transfer was fine but embarkation was not very well organised at first, we are Elite members & being booked in concierge expected to be in a fast track line.

I could not find a line & signs were not clear, only after waiting for some time & pointing out to a member of staff that we were Elite were we told to go straight through to check in.

That was the only real problem & overall we had a lovely time & More the staff from the Captain down were fantastic.

The Captains club benefits are now excellent & we will certainly book again with Celebrity.

The weather was great most of the time, very hot the first week but a little cloudy later on, the only rain was in Amsterdam on the last day. Less

Cabin review: Celebrity Constellation Concierge Class Penthouse Deck (6) 9189

Cabin was very clean & well maintained although showing signs of a little wear in places. The balcony view was slightly blocked by the overhang & supports from above Being on deck nine & below the Buffet restaurant it was a little noisy at times The cabin attendants were excellent & could not have been more helpful

Port and Shore Excursions

Disembarkation was smooth, we took a ships tour with airport drop off. Visited the Anne Frank house & having booked the tour did not have to Queue which was great has the line was very long. Has we already had a ships transfer they refunded us the difference against the price of the tour.

Ship was docked close to the little mermaid, we walked around the main sights no need for the shuttle

Used the local transfer bus, quite interesting but not our favourite place on the cruise

Did not wish to travel all the way to Berlin so booked the Cruise line tour to Lubeck & Wismar which we enjoyed very much

Booked the 2 day cruise line tour which was very good if a little expensive, With hindsight we may have booked a private tour. Palaces were very crowded but that was to be expected, a wonderful experience

Used the cruise line shuttle into Town, beutiful but a very hot day not good for walking around, returned to the ship early.

(5.5)
Walked from the ship into town, just beautiful one of the real highlights
