I just came back from a cruise on the Norwegian Jewel and I want my money and TIME back! Yes, it's true, I hadn't gone on a cruise in years, but this experience wasn't up to par to my past cruises.
There were so many things wrong with this cruise that I don't even know where to begin. Let's start with the food: it was simply ATROCIOUS!!! Yes, there was lots of it, but it felt like eating at Denny's or a Pondersosa buffet. Even the "food" at the extra surcharge restaurants tasted terrible. But who can blame the chefs? Even Alton Brown couldn't make something out of thrice defrosted/refrozen lobster tail. Fine, I live in New York City, I'm accustomed to amazing cuisine, but the food on this cruise left me wanting to jump ship!!!
Now to the service: NEVER, EVER have I encountered such poor service in the travel industry. My bedsheets were not changed on a daily basis. How lovely it was to revisit my mascara stained pillow two nights in a row! Even better, when I threw my towels on the floor (as required to indicate that I wanted new towels), I received my old towels hung up my door (again with my make up stains). LOVELY!
