Took the Kayaking at Manatee Cove excursion with my Dad. Arrived at Port Canaveral on time, and met outside the ship at 12.45. Very short bus ride (10 mins), stopping at restrooms on the way as there were none at the site! Once at Manatee Cove we were given life jackets, paddles and a bottle of water, then a quick instruction on how to paddle. 
Once on the water, we had some time to get used the kayaks in Manatee Cove itself before venturing out onto Indian River. The tour guides Charlie and Sandy were great, and very informative about the wildlife and the river in general. We paddled over to a small island, and whilst there a thunderstorm sprung up. Because it looked as though it would pass overhead we paddled straight back to Manatee Cove rather than exploring the river further in order to get out of the water quickly if we had to. The Manatees were very friendly, nudging the kayaks and were happy to be petted and get their bellies scratched! 
There was a small detour on the way back to the Indian River Citrus store, where we all got to try a small glass of Florida OJ - delicious! 
We arrived back at the ship at approx 4.45. We both thoroughly enjoyed this excursion, and the bonus was that the majority of cruisers were still off the ship when we returned, making for a quiet evening! 


Port Canaveral (Orlando)

Did the Segway tour in Nassau. Met at 9am, and our small group of 7 was driven to the practice site, just beside Junkanoo beach. We got kitted out in elbow and knee pads and helmets before the all important practice in which we got instruction in how to get on and off the segway, turn and go up and down hills! 
We then started the tour by travelling in convoy along the beach to the Fish Fry area, before continuing up to the base of the Fort and back down towards the beach. We had a chicane race before travelling back to the practice site where we were picked up and driven back to the port. Arrived back at 11.15am. Not the longest tour, but a nice fun introduction to Segways and it gave us the afternoon to explore a bit of Nassau. 


Nassau

All in all we had a great time, enjoyed the ship and wouldn't hesitate to sail on the Jewel again.We headed up to the Great Outdoors before going to the buffet for lunch and doing a bit of exploring.
