We began our cruise on April 3, 2011, from the port in Tampa. The Carnival Legend was our third cruise in the Spirit class of ships. We love everything about this class of ships...from the size, to the ease of getting around the ship itself! The Legend had been very recently dry-docked and refurbished so it looked and smelled brand new.
After seven days on this ship, we were unable to find anything to complain about. We had perfect weather the entire time. The food, as always, was delicious; the steak house was OUTSTANDING. Make your reservations and go! It is worth every penny spent, which is not much when you consider the quality of food and service.
We loved the serenity deck and will not cruise on a ship without one. My husband is not a big fan of seven cruises and takes them only to please me. He loved this cruise for many reasons, but the serenity deck was the biggest reason.
Our room/bedding was comfortable. Although we did not make our reservation in More time to obtain one of the few extra-large extended balconies, we were happy, nevertheless. The Purser's Office opened the door between my sister and her husband's extended balcony and ours. Doing this gave us a similar experience. If you look at the deck plan several months in advance of your trip, you will see that there are a few huge balconies that are the same price as an extended balcony. We have had these huge balconies twice now; so we are spoiled.
Whatever you do, please don't overlook the English Teas, offered on sea days. The desserts are delicious.. This cruise did not provide live music during tea time, but it did not matter to us. And...don't t think that you ha e to dress up; we went in our work-out clothes. (By the way, the fitness center is great, too.
We loved Mahogany Bay...such a nice port...beautiful. We did not get off the ship in Belize, and many passengers commented that Carnival should remove this as a port of call.
Disembarkation was an incredibly smooth experience. From the time we were called until being in our car and heading home took no more than 15 minutes. It was a wonderful ending to a beautiful cruise. Less
