Let me begin saying we love to cruise, and Royal Caribbean offers many ammenities we could not find elsewhere. The most important thing to us was the adult "only" pool and spa areas, and non smoking areas on deck, not directly next to or in smelling distance of. This is called the solarium on the 11th deck. This area is a respite from the rest of the ship, and sometimes that is all many of us are looking for.
The positives to us were: the ship is beautiful, especially the dining room, old world style chandeliers and a pianist or trio played on the 2nd tier, if possible request top level. The best shows to us were the skating how in studio B, very professional and exciting, also the comedians were very funny. We were also delighted the Platters were there for a stroll down memory lane. There is eneough entertainment on many other levels to keep everyone happy. This is a small town on water, where you can work out, shop, golf, skate, get a massage and not have to worry about finding a place for meals. This is a "No Brainer", just enjoy being on vacation. We also had access to our computer in the room for $90 for the week, slow access but we are on vacation. We stayed in a junior suite on the 10th deck, a large room with nice balcony.
The negatives: Our biggest issues were with our cabin, although nice the bed was as hard as a rock, and the pull out sofa bed had a mattress about one inch thick and couldn't be used. After a few requests a rollaway bed was brought in for the remainder of the cruise. Our cabin attendant, did the bare minimum and seemed to resent any requests from us. The room was always very clean, and done in a time frame to suit our needs. The food was good but not great but probably better than most of us eat on a normal week. The buffet was open for all meals, with a lot of great choices.
