Great week om Valor

Sail Date: June 2011
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Miami

Background Myself 57 6th cruise 4th with Carnival and my spouse 59 5th cruise 3rd with Carnival. Son 40 daughter 30 and their mates 30 and 25 respectively all first time cruisers.

Flight red eye on Jet Blue from LAX to FLL. Flight was hour late leaving and nobody was able to sleep. So don't think I would do this again even though it was quite a bit cheaper. Used SAS trans. got a call even before we got to the luggage carousel. Picked up quickly and had a good driver Larry got us to the port in a flash. Checked our bags and were off to a little restaurant across the street form the port to have a bite to eat. Went back to port and got zone number 4 about 935. Were sent to check in Kiosks and we done and sitting down by 10 . People were coming off the ship until well past 1100 and the building was quite crowded until they finally started loading the ship. Got and went to lido deck and got some food and a drink maybe 2.

Cabin 6452 aft wrap was wonderful. Big deck but More no couch . But I would gladly give up the couch for the view off the deck.

Food was good menu has not changed since last cruise. Caribbean pork chops we just great, had melting cake every night for desert. Breakfast in main dining room was ok but the service there was not up to par, the waiters seemed not to want to be there.

Comment all in our party were bitten by something that we could not figure out what it was. There were other people complaining of bites also. Room steward was informed and said he would change the sheets.

Ports HMC the tender process took way too long. We checked several times and the lines to get into the theater to get a number were too long. At about 1130 we went to the theater and the place was still pretty full. Got number 50 and was onboard the tender a little after 12. HMC was absolutely beautiful . Lunch was ok but the water was calm and gorgeous. Tender back to ship was long long long. So we got a seat in the shade and were on the last boat back. St Thomas did Meagan's bay and Blackbeard's castle. Tour guide was Henry and sightseeing was his game. He was very good. San Juan was basically a do nothing day. Got off the ship and got coworkers some shot glasses. Grand Turk. Water was clear and beautiful. Not as flat as the pother ports but the water was beautiful And yes I had a cheeseburger in Paradise and a drink on the beach. Food and drink was good but expensive.

Shows were par for a cruise ship and a couple nights there were shows using the passengers as the entertainment Debarkation. We carried our bags and were off the ship by 835.

Post cruise. Rented a car form Hertz and went to Gator Park and loved it. I am a NASCAR fan so I had my pic taken at Homestead speedway. And of course had to drive through South Beach for a look. Took Jet Blue back to LAX and of course they were late again this time by about 20 minutes. So back home and start planning next cruise. Less
