I will try to be objective. Embarkation was easy. We were on the ship and sitting down in the Grand Pacific eating lunch by 12:30. We enjoyed doing this, as usually the buffets on embarkation day are madhouses. They recommend that you wear or carry bathing suits as luggage may not be in room until 6 o'clock. I am sure ours was there well before that. Room steward was pleasant and efficient. Nothing over the top. We ate most dinner meals in the Grand Pacific. We did eat in magenta one night just to try it out. IMHO, they are understaffed in the main dining rooms. There are not enough bus persons. One night I had to complain because more than 15 minutes had gone by and we didn't have water or bread yet. I went to the hostess and she got right on the phone and the maitre d came over, apologized, offered me a drink and got us served right away. They never said what had happened, but I know they screwed up. The cruise director Sinan was very good. Funny, pleasant, visible and well liked. His assistants were also pretty good. The entertainment on board was excellent. Comedian, hypnotist, Man from mars(look it up on the Internet. It is hard to explain but not to be missed)Troupe from Second City, and ship review dancers(my least personal favorite). I did not go to see a lot of the musical talent scattered about the ship, but they did offer this type of entertainment. I also am not a late not party person, but they have themed dance parties every night till 1 or so, and they seemed to be popular and well attended. We ate most breakfasts and lunches in the Garden cafe. They have stations that are easy to understand, well staffed, clean and fresh looking. They offer a very large variety. They even offer foods that cater to different ethnicities (such as Asian or Indian) and eating styles (such as vegetarian). They also have food on the pool decks. Less variety, but if you are laying out at the pool, there is more than enough to pick from. Blue lagoon is a great option. They are open 24/7 and have a limited diner type menu. Dinners in the main dining room were very good. we did not choose to pay the up-charge to go to the specialty dining. It is obvious that most people do,because most specialty restaurants were very full most nights. They have a decent gym. Some treadmills were out of order on the way down, and were repaired before the return trip. Everything was clean. Towels, iced towels, and wipes to use to clean the machines are all available. Guest services was very pleasant when we needed their help. Shops offered the typical variety of stuff. Events and activities are again, the typical cruise fare. Bingo, seminars, dance classes, stretch classes, trivia, liquor tastings(fee based). My kids have allergies to peanuts and tree nuts. I know the drill by now. I sent in the forms. I planned to meet the maitre d, I carry my benadryl and Epipens. We avoid most desserts. We read the menus carefully. The staff did ask or talk about the allergy issue most nights. I asked questions about ingredients, and some of the staff had answers, and some of them didn't. Considering the seriousness of this condition, they do not do enough to make it easy for a passenger to choose their food. On only one night they had us pre order for the next day (this is how Celebrity did it every day). No one ever brought us that meal anyway. Room was very small. I am not a fan of the overall bathroom layout. I like that the shower has a sliding door rather than a shower curtain. In room coffee maker! My kids both enjoyed the teen club. There were 250 teens on board. Obviously, only around 50 or 60 went to the club, but they always seemed to have a good time. The ship has a bowling alley, rock climbing wall, extensive sports area, water slide, game room. library, and many sun decks. We chose walk-off for debarkation. It works the best if you can handle your own stuff.
