We sailed on the NCL Spirit out of New Orleans on June 19. There were 12 people in our group ranging from 9 to 72 years old. This was an excellent cruise for us. I have to say that I was a bit nervous prior to our cruise after having read some negative reviews about this ship. However, I was very pleased with our entire cruise experience. Getting onto the boat was a simple process and didn't have much of a wait (20 minutes). We arrived on board shortly after noon and we were surprised to find that all the staterooms were ready so we headed to our rooms on Deck 9. We all had balcony staterooms and were very pleased with the accommodations. Everything was very nice and the balcony is a nice extra that makes the room seem a bit bigger. We spent lots of time on the balcony, which was very nice. We only ate in the main dining rooms, Raffles Buffet, and the Blue Lagoon. All the food was very good. The lunch buffet by the pool on sea days was excellent and very handy.(Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, BBQ, Fajitas, Stir Fry, etc. Yummy!)The shows were very good as well. Also, the cruise staff does an excellent job of keeping you busy if that is what you like to do. There was always something going on. Kids play bingo for free with an adult. My son won 2 different spa treatments in a raffle during Bingo. That was a pleasant surprise. The ports are all wonderful and it was very easy to get on and off the boat. We left the ship on Sunday morning at 7:00 a.m. and carried our own luggage off. We were in the car within 10 minutes and headed home. It was an excellent vacation for our entire family.
Great Balcony! No clocks, so you might take your own. Great location for the kid's pool and raffles buffet.
