Sail Date: May 2009

I'm currently 32, husband is 35. this was our first cruise. we went early May of '09. I wasn't particularly thrilled about going on a cruise but my husband wanted to go. we figured a short 3 night cruise would be a nice way to see if it was for us, and it was cheap. boy did we LOVE it! I did all the online registering stuff at the royal caribbean website, getting the Set Sail Pass and all. embarking was quick and easy. the food was great - we only did the formal dining room once. we're just not into dressing up and mingling with people. plus we were usually not hungry at the time, so we liked the freedom of the buffet instead. the food was all pretty darn good. it wasn't outstanding, out of this world like you sometimes hear, but it was good. the waitors were very nice and funny. in the morning you are having breakfast and they are like "conserve water, have a bloody mary", etc. they were always cracking us up. the stateroom service was great. every time we came back to our room, the bed was made and everything tidy. my only complaint was we like reusing our towels and we would each hang our towel, and every time they tidied our room, they would re-fold the towels more perfect and move them, so we never knew whose towel was which, which caused us to just put them on the floor and grab new towels. I mean, come on, I don't wanna be wiping my husband's ass on my face! the first stop was RCCL's island Coco Cay. It was great. we liked that port of call the best. small little island, with everything right there. the lunch was an outdoor grill - the best food of the whole time! we did a jet ski excursion, which was fun, and the guide gave some local history. the 2nd stop was nassau. we heard from others how much cheaper it was to pay a local cab guy instead of the "approved" transportation. but they drive like mad men, and they never seem to have change, which you know is a lie, so have exact change! we wanted to parasail, but we thought the cruiseline wanted too much. so we took the cab to the atlantis hotel and found a beach and took a parasail ride with the locals. pro - it was half the price, but con - the harnesses were so used and frayed I was wondering if we would fall in the ocean so I was terrified. but it was fun. we did one "approved" excursion - a Segway tour, that was fun. the beds were hard and not very comfortable, I woke up sore.but all in all, it was a fabulous time. we tried to pack so much into our 3 nights that we were pretty exhausted by the end. we loved it so much, we booked a 5 night cruise the following December!

Cabin Review

I can't really remember where our room was. inside cabin, about the middle of the ship. 3rd or 4th floor. nice and quiet though. enough closet space for short 3 night stay.
