This was our 3rd cruise in Alaska over the past 5 years. The first two were Inside Passage with 2 glacier days on each cruise. This year we wanted to stop in Victoria so we did a r/t from Seattle. I missed the two days of seeing the glaciers, but did enjoy this itinerary very much.

The weather was pretty good; a bit cooler than last year when we were there in late May. Many days we woke up to a lot of fog, but most of the time it cleared by the time we arrived to see the fjords or sail in to port. Just a tad bit of rain in Ketchikan. We brought fleece vests, a winter hat/gloves and we were plenty warm (we are used to hot temps we live in GA).

Last year we sailed on the Coral Princess and this year on Sapphire Princess. I think even though the Sapphire is bigger I liked it better. More spaces to enjoy the scenery out on the decks; we loved sitting by the indoor pools upper deck and just watching the beauty of Alaska go by us.

Balcony

Cabin BD

We were in a oceanview balcony:B259. Great location to the elevators/stairs, wonderful covering over our heads when out on the balcony. The room was small as we normally book a mini-suite, but we did ok for the week considering the great price we got at the last minute. I prefer the bathrooms of the mini-suites with the tub and shower; this category just has a shower.

Ample storage space for all our clothes and the luggage fits under the bed when empty.
