We were expecting a less then spectacular cruise when we booked. We read a few of the reviews and a number of disparaging comments about the Spirit but could not pass this cruise up because of 1. The price, & 2. Our huge discount earned via use of our NCL MBNA Master Card.
When we arrived at the port at the designated time for boarding, we were delayed by 1. The ship arrived late & 2. Immigration was late in clearing the ship. This created a large backup in the waiting room and needless to say this lowered our expectations still further.
We boarded the ship and no one was there to greet us and show us to our cabin as was our expectation. However, it went upward from there. While walking to our cabin we noticed everything was clean and fresh. The color schemes were well thought out and bright.
